Our story

A university entrepreneurship platform designed to turn potential into practical, sustainable ventures.

innobiz DUT Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a registered Non-Profit Company under the Durban University of Technology, serving as the umbrella body for entrepreneurial learning, business support and related activities across DUT.

Our journey traces its roots to the Midlands Entrepreneurship Centre and the Durban Entrepreneurial Centre and Desk, established in 2017 to support and develop student entrepreneurs.

In November 2021, these entities morphed into one streamlined platform through the launch of innobiz DUT — a dedicated entrepreneurship and innovation hub aligned with DUT's ENVISION2030 strategy.
